On behalf of everyone at Infoblox, I want to share our deep sense of loss at the passing of Don Pyle. Don, who headed our Service Provider group before joining a company called ScienceLogic last year, was an inspiring leader, a tireless entrepreneur and a dedicated philanthropist.
Don, his wife Sandy, and four of their grandchildren perished in a devastating fire at their home in Annapolis, Maryland, on Jan. 19. ScienceLogic, where Don was chief operating officer, posted a moving remembrance yesterday.
I first met Don in 2009 when Infoblox acquired Netcordia, where Don was the CEO. I quickly came to appreciate Don’s energy and insight. He deserves much of the credit for integrating Netcordia into Infoblox, and many of the people he recruited into Netcordia are still part of the team in our Annapolis office. Don was more than just a boss – he always took time to help employees overcome challenges and grow in their careers.
For those who knew Don and want to share stories or condolences, ScienceLogic asks that you send them to rememberingDonPyle@gmail.com . The company may publish them in a compilation post and share them with the family. If you would like to remain anonymous, simply sign your email as “anonymous.”
Don’s family released a short statement yesterday that exactly conveys my feelings at this sad moment: “Life is fragile. Make time today to embrace your loved ones.”
