Over the past several years, Infoblox has been leading the way for Actionable Network Intelligence by partnering with VMware to control and automate DNS record and IP address provisioning for VMware virtual machines and NSX load balancers. I’m excited to announce that the Infoblox VMware Cloud Adapter version 4.2 is now available, and it extends DNS and IP address automation to VMware NSX Distributed Logical Routers (DLR).
This version of the Infoblox VMware Adapter is targeted to fit the new NSX on-demand network feature of vRealize Automation (vRA). It enables the registration of NSX on-demand routed networks in NIOS when a catalog item is deployed in those networks. When VMs are in routed networks, the Adapter deletes the corresponding networks in NIOS. We’ve added two new workflows, “Create IP Ranges” and “Delete IP Ranges,” to support this functionality.
This updated Adapter highlights Infoblox’s focus on the need for control, automation, and visibility of software-defined networking (SDN) and hybrid cloud deployments. Infoblox now has the widest range of pre-built and tested integrations with leading virtualization and cloud platform providers including VMware, OpenStack, AWS, and Azure.
Infoblox customers can download the newest Adapter by visiting Infoblox Support > Downloads > NIOS IPAM for VMware. That link provides the newest Adapter and all related documentation.
