There really aren’t too many places that let you “try before you buy.” Only three come to mind. First, you have the car dealers, which let you do test drives, and then you have some grocery stores which let you snack as you shop.
And then there’s Infoblox. We’ve been giving our customers and prospects the opportunity to test drive our products through our “proofs of concept” for quite a while.
Now we’re adding a new and improved proof-of-concept offer for our Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection product, making it even better. Advanced DNS Protection is a DNS server that has built-in rules to detect DNS DDoS attacks, DNS tunneling, DNS exploits and other tricks hackers use to bring down DNS servers.
Previously, customers would have to take out their existing production DNS server and replace it with Advanced DNS Protection to do a test. So we’ve come up with an alternate option. We ship prospects the evaluation unit, and they attach the Advanced DNS Protection appliance to the span port of their DNS server and mirror the traffic, allowing them to monitor what’s going on with live DNS queries. That way, they can see attacks underway without having to reconfigure their network. They can identify vulnerabilities before damage happens.
The Advanced DNS Protection proof of concept is easy and quick to deploy, and there’s no longer the need to replace an existing DNS server. What’s most exciting is that prospects can let it monitor their traffic for weeks, periodically checking the reports to see any attacks.
